Parsley Growing Season In India
Parsley is a cool-weather crop that grows best in the fall, winter and spring seasons (October-February). You can also plant parsley indoors in grow lights at any season throughout the year.
How To Grow Parsley In Pots
Parsley is a leafy vegetable that should be planted directly in its final pot and it is recommended not to transplant because parsley has a delicate deep root, so extra care is needed if you are going to transplant. Select pots or grow bags that are at least 30-60 cm and 30-36 cm (wide and deep) that have well-draining holes. The ideal temperature for the germination of parsley seeds is between 18-21°C.
Parsley Seeds Sowing Method
Take a pot or grow bag, fill them with a sowing medium and then sow the parsley seeds about 0.5 cm in the soil and 5-8 cm apart from each seed. Water deeply, keep the soil moist and place the pot in a dark place indoors. Parsley seeds are hard to germinate so it takes about 2-4 weeks to germinate the seed (depending on growing conditions).
Fertilizer For Parsley Plants
Apply a balanced liquid organic fertilizer (Neem Khali, mustard cake or cow manure) during the initial stages of the plant or you can amend the soil with lots of organic matter or compost for better and fast results for parsley plants.
