We are a young dynamic team of trained plantscape artists, stylists, designers and hobbyists obsessed with creativity. By blending art and technology we make hybrid creations. In 2019, Our story began in a tiny studio flat with just a single window. Initially we struggled to find out what plants to use for window sills and styling other spaces. But unfortunately, None of our beloved ducklings didn’t last very long. But we enjoyed the process of decorating our community space. We started our company “The Hobbit Land” as a passion project then.

“As a kid, I was fascinated by the four foot tall self sustaining ecosystem in my grandmother’s villa home. I would press my face against it and peer into that enclosed tropical world. It really sparked an interest in me. Almost two decades later, I turned that fascination into a business. Having grown up in an impeccably tasteful home, the sense to transform a space wasn’t something I developed, It was ingrained in me!”

Our vision started to grow when we slowly discovered the beauty of nature. Fascination quickly turned into obsession. Since then The Hobbit Land has kindled the spark of curiosity with unique and spectacular designs. We continued to seek out by spreading contagious love for creative minds. Our designs infuse both minimalism and functionality to your space. We embrace the consciousness of art, innovative, boundary breaking spirits and infuse it into all our designs. The Hobbit Land began with only 20 products under its belt. Over the years and many accolades, like people’s good opinion and featuring, We have gained a reputation for quality, experience and style with our inspirational plantscaping and creative living displays.

How we source it!

We have largest technology based infrastructure which is nurturing more than hundreds of plants everyday. Our Plant Hunters travel all over India to find beautiful, easy-care plants for in and around your home. Today, The Hobbit Land is one of the largest horticultural growers in India.

Ever wonder how we bring you new and exciting varieties? Our plant hunters travel all over India in search of fresh indoor plants. They visit plant breeders, plant markets and nurseries around India looking for rare, exotic plants to test. Not all plants come from far corners of the nation. While we find and test hundreds of new varieties, only a handful make it through our testing process.

For us to bring a new plant to you, it has to pass a five-point series of tests: *We need to be able to successfully grow it in our conditions. *We need to be able to efficiently propagate it. *It needs to hold up well in shipping, both in trucks to stores and in boxes to your home. *It needs to hold up in the average retail store. *It needs to grow well in typical home conditions.

Our research and development team helps us be sure that we’re growing the best plants on the market, whether it’s a houseplant, annual or perennial flower or patio plant. We thoroughly test them before we sell them. We evaluate from December to May for spring performance and June to September for tolerance to heat, humidity, and heavy rain. If a plant survives all summer long, it should do well just about anywhere. We’re always looking into new technologies to help us grow better, as well as growing techniques and pest control solutions. For example, we’ve started an insectary where we’re raising our own beneficial insects to help prevent / control pests without chemicals. And our indoor plants are tested with the lighting and temperature levels found in the typical home environment to help us ensure we’re bringing you plants that will thrive.
