Turnip microgreen plants are a very easy way to grow your food. It is a low-maintenance, high-nutrient microgreen. They contain around ten times the amount of nutrients in mature turnips. Among those are high levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, phosphorus, potassium and beta-carotene. These vitamins and minerals offer health benefits including increased mood, better sleep, regulated blood sugar levels and even a reduced risk of cancer.

How To grow Turnip Microgreen Seeds

Selection of Seeds
Choose high-quality turnip seeds specifically labeled for microgreen production.

Planting Medium
Fill a shallow tray or container with a soilless growing medium. Coconut coir, peat moss or a seed-starting mix are suitable choices.

Sowing Seeds
Sprinkle turnip seeds evenly across the surface of the growing medium. Press them down gently to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.

Watering
Water the seeds thoroughly after planting. Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging.

Providing Light
Place the tray in a location with indirect sunlight or under grow lights. Turnip microgreens don't require direct sun but need good light for healthy growth.

Germination
Turnip seeds will germinate in about 3 to 5 days. Once the seedlings are a few inches tall, they are ready for the next step.

Harvesting
• Harvest turnip microgreens when they reach a height of 5-8 cm. Use scissors to cut them just above the soil level.
• Incorporate freshly harvested turnip microgreens into salads, sandwiches, wraps or as a zesty garnish for various dishes.
