Clarkia Elegant is a very popular annual flowering plant available in shades of white to pink, purple and salmon. The flowers are pinwheel shaped and about 2 inches across with single blooms. Clarkia Elegant Growing Season In India 
Clarkia Elegant prefers a dry climate and cool weather but does not like high humidity. They are cold-resistant, so you can sow clarkia seeds from fall until winter (September-January) in hot areas and from spring to summer (February-May) in colder areas. Apart from this, some gardeners also sow clarkia seeds at the beginning of the rainy season.

How To Grow Clarkia Elegant From Seeds 
You can easily grow clarkia in a pot or garden by transplant method or by direct sowing. Sow the clarkia seeds when the soil temperature is between 18-21°C. To plant clarkia flowers take a Pot or grow bag of at least 22-35 cm wide and deep.

Clarkia Elegant Double Mix Seeds Sowing Method 
• Take a seedling tray/pot, fill it with potting soil mix and spread the Clarkia Elegant seeds on the soil. Cover the seeds with a sprinkling of the potting mix because clarkia seeds are very small and it need light to germinate, so they do not need to be covered with a thick layer of soil. Place the seedling tray in a sunny spot and keep the soil moist until germination. Clarkia flower seeds will germinate in 5-10 days.
• After Clarkia Elegant seeds germinate and when the first true leaves appear, you need to transplant the seedling into a larger pot. During transplanting, a distance of about 8-15 cm should be maintained between the seedlings for the healthy growth of the plants. Take a large pot, put the soil and mix organic fertilizer in it, then plant the seedlings carefully in the soil. Keep the soil moist and place the pot in light. If you sow the seeds indoors, you need to harden the seedling.

Best Fertilizer For Clarkia Flower 
Elegant Clarkia doesn't need any special fertilizer, just avoid adding a high nitrogen fertilizer as this will only encourage foliar growth. You can add vermicompost or cow manure for healthy growth of clarkia during its growing season.

Soil : Use sandy, infertile and well-drained soil for planting clarkia flowers.
Water : It has moderate water needs, you should water daily until established and then keep the soil moist.
Sunlight : Clarkia grows best in 6-8 hours of sunlight. However, it can grow well in partial shade in warm and dry regions.
Temperature : Clarkia prefers cool weather after germination, plants grow best in 16–21°C day temperatures and 10°C night temperatures.
Pests and Diseases : Aphids, mites and Japanese beetles are some pests that attack the clarkia plant. You can use neem oil to avoid pests. Whereas powdery mildew and bacterial leaf spot disease infect the plant, you can control this disease by removing the infected part of the plant.
